In September of 2007, after eight years on the road as a singer/songwriter, Steve Sandfort has settled, oddly enough, into the life of a student studying theology at Concordia Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. "It was a bit strange and surreal at first," Steve says of his first day of Greek class in the fall. "I thought, what am I doing here? I'm forty years old and sitting in a class with a bunch of twenty-somethings."

Steve soon found that there were many other "old guys" interested in theology. "Reallly," Steve says, "I think those of us who have been around the block so to speak have had the benefit of experiencing God in ways that a younger person has not. I'm really glad God has provided this time for me to study."

Steve not only brings a unique background to his time at the seminary, but he also brings a unique set of gifts; however, chances are he won't be playing any guitar solos or presenting a John the Baptist monologue for the seminary's traditional chapel services. He takes it all in stride though, choosing to focus on learning theology at school, and exercising his creativity elsewhere. For Steve, his experiences up to this point in life are all a part of being a versatile, well-rounded future pastor.

As a performer Steve has clearly shown his versatility, releasing three independent CD's, touring both as a solo act and with a band, and acting in dozens of video, film, and television ventures. He is known for his comfortable and easygoing style, whether speaking in front of a thousand school kids or working as an actor on the set of a major motion picture. His good humor and strong work ethic have given him numerous repeat performance opportunities, both as a musician and as an actor.

Even though he is considered a full-time student, Steve still performs many events thoughout the year, both as a singer/songwriter and as an actor. He can currently be seen as an actor in music videos on CMT and GAC, as well as playing the recuring role of Professor Snortinskoff in the Bibleman television/DVD series aired on many Christian television stations around the United States.
